Ann Dvorak Lecture Now Available to View

Year of Ann Dvorak: Day 352

A few weeks back I did my first ever Ann Dvorak lecture for the Los Angeles Visionaries Association (LAVA). The fine folks with LAVA recorded the whole thing and have now posted it on YouTube and their website.

Even though I was wearing two pairs of Spanx that day, I cannot bring myself to watch it so I hope the quality is ok. The content is rough in a few spots and I will be making some adjustments, but otherwise this will probably be my standard talk about Ann and the book.

If you’re willing to sit in front of your computer for the next hour or so, I hope you enjoy it!

Finding “AnnDvorak.com” has been a wonderfully incredible voyage of discovery.

As stated previously, you can learn something new here virtually every day. Which has been the case for me. The ins and out of purchasing movie memorabilia … Anna Lehr … Herman Schultheis … to name but a few … were all things I knew nothing at all about until arriving here.

Today it was finding out what ‘Spanx’ are. (I keed … I keed.)

Seriously, though, hell of a nice job here! (Gregg Toland, it appears, was not operating the camera during the presentation?)

I’ll, no doubt, feel sheepish in not knowing this, but who is the burly gentleman smoking the stogie across the page from Frances Farmer on the header of Larry Harnisch’s L.A. Mirror blog from yesterday?

Oy! I am ashamed to admit that I can’t make out who that cigar smoking man is.

Herman Schultheis is a great gift, and I can barely contain myself waiting for this to come out: www.amazon.com/The-Lost-Notebook-Schultheis-Secrets/dp/1616286326/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1387507730&sr=8-1&keywords=herman+schultheis
