Year of Ann Dvorak: Day 204
Just to mix things up a bit, today’s post is a video. My husband shot it, so any quality or framing complaints should be directed towards him.
Enjoy!
Just totally charming.
As far as the camerawork goes, George Barnes, Tony Gaudio or Sol Polito could only hope to match it’s artistry.
Thanks Scott. I was sans make-up and on pain-killers from a foot injury which is why my face is not onscreen.
Christina, please believe me that my following comment is meant in the most complimentary way: “I can easily see why you are frequently compared to Betty Page – it’s certainly not just a hair cut thing!â€
I told the hubby that his framing was a bit off, and he, my sister, and my friend Darin all said no one would notice. Oh well!
“No one would noticeâ€?? WRONG!!! Your hubby did a great job at presenting a tasteful, tantalizing attraction for potential book purchasers (and all males in general)! I had previously commented that you should consider posting a picture on the internet of you in your Betty Page hair styling, smile, etc., holding “THE BOOKâ€. FORGET THAT!! Go for a larger, longer video version ala Betty Page for YouTube. I would be willing to bet that the hits will be in the millions in no time, seriously!! Just remember to place a book or two strategically for sales purposes. I’d bet anything that this will guarantee tons of potential sales! An awesome thought….
I’m almost 40 and have had a kid and thyroid cancer. Afraid my Bettie Page days are behind me. I’ll have to count on Ann to be the selling point.
Tsk, tsk…You obviously underestimate yourself!!
I don’t underestimate the book, because I can say without reservation that it turned out awesome!
“The Manuscript”. (Alternate title: “Biography Progress Report #24: Officially in the Home Stretch”.)
A Pre-Code film, from Warner Brothers. Directed by Lloyd Bacon. Starring Christina Rice.
Due to censorship issues, like “Convention City”, no prints of “The Manuscript” are thought to exist.
Ha!
Joseph Breen would not be amused. 😀
