Year of Ann Dvorak: Day 56
Merrily We Live is going to air on Turner Classic Movies on Tuesday, February 26 at 10:30am PST.
I MISSED THIS 🙁 🙁 🙁
Don’t worry, they show it FREQUENTLY. Probably more so than any of her other films!
TCM loooooooves Constance Bennet is why!
Ms. Rice:
Joe Kenneddy is a good friend and forwarded me you Ann Dvorak site.
I´ve been so much affected by that splendid actress that, at a certain point, my devotion to Bette Davis was put to test.
She may be forgotten, but not by me, who was lucky enough to see both “Our Very Own” and “A Life of Her Own” in the same year I saw “All About Eve”.
I was nine years-old then, and my revisits to those two titles expanded into lending them on VHS through the years as a double-bill in order to prove how extraordinary she was.
I just wanted you to know that.
And that I long for your book.
Best,
Fabiano Canosa
Hi Fabiano, Thank you for the kind words, and I agree that “Our Very Own” and “A Life of Her Own” is one heck of a double bill! Say hi to Joe for me.
